America may run on Dunkin’s, but some Boston drivers are running on rage, cops say.

As a woman neared the drive-thru window of a Dorchester Dunkin’ Donuts, a car tried to back out. The woman told cops she tapped her horn to let the driver know she was there. That prompted a tirade from the man and woman in the other car.

The woman ignored them, picked up her drink at the window and was about to leave when the couple blocked her car with theirs, and a woman leapt out, cops said.

“The female suspect then pulled her from her car and threw her to the ground and assaulted her,” police said. “Witnesses . . . reported that the female suspect attacked the victim by slamming her head on the ground, (and) punching her about the face and back.”

Kerry Gates, 27, of Dorchester was charged with assault and battery. Her companion, Patrick O’Toole, 30, of Dorchester, was charged with accessory before the fact.
