Hi. I am new to the blog scene. As my name suggests I am the mother of a student at Morton Middle school. I have been very involved in my daughter's education. As of late I have become extremely frustrated with the school department, school committee and the state of our schools. I thought this would be a good place to have conversation and vent.

Welcome to the site. A lot of venting going on here about the current school administration. Feel free to vent.

I can see why you are frustrated Mortonmom. Where to begin....I think to just talk about the school committee and administration is almost ineffective, not that they don't deserve accountability, but at this point they are like a misbehaving child. We, the public, don't seem to expect much from them anymore. They can continue to make grave errors and we just go along with it. The parents really need to be more vocal about their children's experiences, problems in the schools, what happens when we even try to talk about problems...have you noticed that their is what seems like a "gag order". As parents, you almost get the impression, "you'll get what you get, and like it!!" This is NOT a community working together.
