The Fall River Independent Baseball League (FRIBL), a men’s wooden bat league, will begin playing on April 13. The league will be run by Norm Yelle, who managed the Stafford Post 314 American Legion team for the past decade and was president of the Maplewood Park Little League for many years. The FRIBL will be filling the void of the Southeastern Massachusetts Baseball League (SMBL).
The FRIBL will be open to men age 20 and older. The league will also run a separate age division (13-15), which will begin play at the same time.
The adult division will begin in early April and play through September. There will be a 30-game regular season and playoffs. No schedule is available yet for the lower age division.
For more information, call Yelle at (774) 488-2413 or visit the league’s Web site, www.fribl.net.
P.S. I have designed the web site for the league, and will be doing the stats for the league as well.
