Do you have a dangerous intersection in your neighborhood? Maybe a street that people drive too fast on? Needs a stop sign? Tell us about it.

There is going to be a tragic accident at this intersection. It's 1 block east of the Doran school. About a month ago the city made Ferry St. a one way going down towards the school. There is no stop sign on Ferry St. at the intersection. Traffic fly's down Ferry St. at 25-30 mph. The school buses are some of the worst offenders. They come barreling down Ferry very fast. Yesterday there was a bad crash at the intersection. Kids cross the intersection all day. This was a horrible mistake to route all this traffic through narrow Ferry Street, instead of Columbia, where it belongs. Ferry Street has parking on both sides and is only 1 lane in the middle (2 cars cannot pass at the same time). It's unbelieveable that the city traffic dept. could develop this plan without realizing how dangerous it is to route all this traffic on an extremely congested street.

It only took me one month living in Fall River to realize there are no "undangerous" intersections and/or streets! People pull out in front of you at will, always need to be first, speed on congested streets regularly, roll through traffic lights as if they are simply "suggestions". My personal favorite is the area at Harbor Mall......Getting to WalMart is apparently of highest importance....Stop signs, traffic lights be damned!!!

Of course, there's always the PriceRite parking lot on Pleasant Street....

There is actually one "undangerous" intersection in Fall River - the intersection of Langley and Madison. Where many intersections in Fall River dangerously go without even stop signs, this 4-way intersection seems out of place with its 2 stop signs, new cross-walk, and 2 additional signs opposite the stop signs that warn of an intersection ahead. This section of Langley Street is also recently paved, and has nice new sidewalks.

Any chance that this supersafe intersection has something to do with the fact that City Councilor extrordanaire Thomas Kozak owns a house at that intersection?

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT FALL RIVER PROPERTIES AT http://fallriver.patriotproperties.com/default.asp You can look up Fall River property info by street/owner/parcel. The property info also indicates the tax assessments for the properties - I have found it very interesting to compare my tax valuation against other properties.
