I read a while back about Cathy Ann Viveiros winning the lottery, also previous to winning that she had filed for bankruptcy. Is there any truth to these statements. I am curious expecially with voting just around the corner..Thanks..........Rebecca

Why the focus on the bankruptcy issue? Do you think it reflects their capabilities in office? I've thought about this myself when I read how many public officials have filed in the past. Not sure how I come down on this issue. Bankruptcy is often caused by reasons other than carelessness. But at the same time it's not easy to just dismiss it as unimportant in someones background. Maybe they do have lousy judgement, or poor spending habits. Will this carry over to their votes in spending our money?

I think it's important to focus on a persons' background, especially if they want to handle our tax dollars. If you can't keep your own affairs in order what can I expect you to do with mine. I want a spend-thrift handling and doing the right thing with my tax dollars.......Rebecca

How do you expect any individual to make good decisions for thousands of people when they haven't got the self control, intelligence or common sense to do it for themselves????
I'll tell you.....It is impossible that is the answer. Nothing says more about an individual and his decision making process than to look at the decisions that he or she has made for themselves.

I don't know anything about any financial problems with Kathy but I believe you have to listen to her and all of the candidates and decide who is best to lead Fall River. I've been to a few of her political times as I have other candidates and found her to be extremely intellegent, professional and and honest. She answers any question put before her and has many new innovative ideas. I would not discount her simply because of a rumor without any documentation or explanation of what may have or may not have occurred.

One thing that I did find disturbing was at the Mayoral Candidate Forum on September 3rd at BCC when Mayor Correia walked out half way through the program. I don't know who is advising him but I think that gave a bad message to voters.

If he left and gave no reasonable excuse to the general public for his actions then he is an arrogant ass....or a confidant one.

I don't know if this is a fact, but my neighbor told me that Correia had announced that he was leaving early due to a prior committment. It had something to do with Frank Baptista's radio show. I don't know if he was going to be a guest on Baptista's show or what.............Rebecca
